Main Sessions

  • Ebonie Davis has served as the Associate Pastor of Youth at Trinity Baptist Church in Waldorf, Maryland for over a decade. She conducted the most recent national multi-city study of youth ministries known for racially diverse ministry, and holds a Master’s degree from Huntington University in Youth Ministry Leadership.

  • Keithen is giving his life to reverse the narrative that young people are a lost cause in the church. Transitioning from leading citywide movements in Portland, Oregon, he is now in New York City as a pastor on staff at Church of the City New York building a network of leaders and launching YTH.NYC. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Celeste as they contend for the next great move of God in our time, and enjoy a coffee and walk in the West Village.

  • Shelbi is a pastor, speaker, and writer. Over the last 8 years, Shelbi has worked as a pastor of youth and spiritual formation, and she currently serves as the Pastor of Preaching and Gatherings at A Jesus Church in Portland, Oregon. Shelbi is also working on projects with The Fuller Youth Institute, Alpha Youth, and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Since her diagnosis at 16, Shelbi has had the opportunity to share her unfolding story of steadfast hope with thousands of people across the country. In all she does, Shelbi is passionate about seeing people come alive to the power of God’s presence in and through their weaknesses.

  • Elita Friesen is a writer and Bible teacher and has served in various ministry capacities for the last 10 years. She is currently on the teaching and pastoral teams at The Way, a church serving the city of Vancouver. Elita feels uniquely called to encourage this generation not only toward biblical literacy, but also toward a deep love of Jesus through the study of Scripture. She is the author and co-author of several books and Bible studies. Elita and her husband, Ryan, have been married for 20 years and they live in the Lower Mainland of BC with their four children.

  • Jason Ballard is the Lead Pastor of The Way Church in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the Executive Director of the Canadian Church Leaders Network. Jason is also one of the hosts on the Youth Alpha Film Series. Jason and his wife Rachael have three kids–Hudson, Mary and Millie.

  • From camp speaker to local youth pastor to youth ministry professor, Sid Koop draws from a deep well of experience over a couple ministry decades. He is the Executive Director of Youth Worker Community where he and his team are dedicated to filling in the gaps for youth workers by equipping, empowering, and supporting youth workers to help the next generation know Jesus.
